Sumikko Gurashi Penguin?

For many of the Sumikko fan must know, Penguin?, with the question mark, is the name of this little green life creature. Penguin? (ぺんぎん?) resembles a green penguin, but is unsure if it is really one because it has read a lot of penguin book but none of them are in green. It likes eating cucumbers and has vague memories of having a plate on its head because it was lost. The plate indicated that it is indeed a kappa, literally river son. It likes to read and listen to music. And it is the first Sumikko to arrive at the corner.

Crochet tips and tricks: Changing yarn when crocheting

Here is the tip to keep a smooth transition of color (From left to right, top to bottom)

  1. Bring in the White yarn at the last step of the stitch in Light Green before the White stitch start. When you have 2 loops of Light Green color on your hook, yarn over the White yarn and pull through the 2 Light Green loops so that you can start the next stitch in White.

  2. During the crochet of White stitch, keep the Light Green yarn at the back of the stitches.

  3. Keep the yarn at the back loose. Do not pull it too tight.

  4. When you need to change back to Light Green, remember Tip 1: bring back Light Green when you have 2 loops of White color for the last White stitch on your hook.
